SASSA is going to be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency reported it can be alarmed in regards to the higher range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some superior variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The services stage designed for intervention activities a significant influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In here this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to enable the servicing of all clients and improve usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
